THE REALITY

You stayed the rest of the day in your room, sitting on the bed curled into a ball. You hugged your legs as you looked outside of the window. The thunder had stopped but the rain didn’t show any signs’ of taking a break. You rested your hand on top of your knees and sighed. Someone knocked on the door before opening it and stepping inside. It’s your best friend, Junhong. He came in to your room with worried expression and you tried hard to refuse to meet his eyes. He walked up to you, sat down on next to you on your bed and took you into his arm.

‘’Ye Jin ah, it’s been a year and you’re still like this. Till when you want to become like this? You’ve to accept the reality. There still a lot of things that waiting for you. I hate to see you sad, it breaks my heart’’ concern was clear on his face and his eyes looked wet. Guilt washed over you.

‘’ But I just…’’ you voice out but Junhong cut you off and held out his hand, tipping your chin upward and forcing you to meet his eyes. ‘’I know you can’t forget him, Ji Ho is your first love and I’m sure every person certainly will not be able to forget their first love. Listen, God love him more than you love him. He already in a nice place and I'm believe he will always stay in your heart, taking care of you. Remember that’’ you could sense his tone raised up.

Tears started to build up in your eyes as soon as you heard that. You blinked the tears back before they were big enough to roll down on your cheeks. You don’t want him to see you crying but you can’t hold it anymore. You snuggled your head into his neck before you inhaled his scent and nodded slowly. Both of you hugging and it felt so warm that you don’t want to let it go. After a few seconds later he slowly let go his body from yours and his warm hand brushed some of your hair behind your left ear. His slender fingers carefully touched your cheek, wiping away some traces of your tears. Your eyes widening as you looked into his sparkling eyes. Your heart skip a beat, there was a feeling of something. Is it a love? You tried to deny it as you removed your eyes from his sight. It was so awkward. Luckily Junhong’s phone rang and its break the awkward. You exhaled some breath.

He was talking to phone and his side profile is so perfect. His tall nose, double-eyelid eye, plump lips; everything are so perfect. You looking at him non-stop until he finished talking and noticed that you looking at him. You got caught, your cheeks reddened with rage then lowered your head because you felt shy. He stood up and told you that he has to go and he walked slowly to the door as you watched him. He stop after taking a few steps and turned back to you. You then looking at him back with a blank expression. ‘’Yah Ye Jin. Make sure you wake up early tomorrow and wear a nice outfit. I have a surprise for you’’ He winked at me and rapidly ran to downstairs before you got to open your mouth.  You think it is so cute and totally made you burst into a humorless laugh. You took a few steps, closed your bedroom door, and anticipate of what will happen tomorrow.
